Two individuals named Lloyd and Bertha Bontrager shared a love of travel and a dream to craft a better RV. They worked hard to make a prototype camper trailer, which offered the first lifter system for fold-down campers. Their company Jayco officially launched in 1968 as a small business in Northwest Indiana, but it quickly gained popularity and expanded. In the first year, Jayco sold an impressive 1,100 units. By 2016, Jayco sold its one millionth unit.
